selected in 1967 at oregon state university in corvallis, oregon, columbia was once grown throughout oregon on ~300 acres, however, was discontinued in the early 80s in favor of willamette. it is now grown on a much smaller scale. columbia is a seedless variety with good storage stability and and small to medium cone size. columbia has a great signature citrus kick.
 

used for:  ambers, ales, pale ales, porters and stouts.


aroma:  specific aroma descriptors include earth, fruit, and "fuggle-like"
